We were very kindly offered the
opportunity of owning a beautiful breeding bitch
Guzmac Miss Goldilocks
|

A
few months after she came to live with us, we decided to let Cleo have her
first litter of puppies. She was
successfully mated to 'Guzmac Above All Others'
&
naturally gave birth to 3 beautiful puppies, 2 bitches & 1 dog.
This was to be the first time we experienced whelping on our own, as
Cleo took us all by surprise & had her babies with no warning & luckily
with no complications.
The
puppies soon grew & we decided to keep the dog, &
we named him Ralph - ‘Varpek Ice Warrior’.

We
were fortunate to find very loving pet homes for the bitches, & we still keep in touch
& find out what
they are getting up
to! Parting with these puppies was
very difficult & a few tears were shed after they had gone. I
had to realise I couldn’t keep them all, if I was to carry on breeding &
exhibiting! |

It
soon became apparent that Ralph ‘Varpek Ice
Warrior’ - was ready for the show ring & at his very first show,
just one day after he was 6 months old, he won a strong puppy class & best
Pekingese puppy at Stockport Toy Dogs under an American judge Mrs Hope Burghardt. This was to be the
start of his successful show career.

A few weeks after
this show was his first championship show at Border Union where in a strong
minor puppy dog class he was awarded second prize & qualified first time
for Crufts 2000, under Andrea Livesey (Livanda). |
